The Role

Working within the Integrity & Ethics division, you will conduct investigations into whistleblowing and HR complaints raised in the 27 countries where Oxfam GB operates. You will collaborate extensively with management teams and operational HR colleagues and work alongside colleagues from our Anti-Fraud & Corruption and Safeguarding Teams.

You will carry out high quality investigations, conduct witness interviews, gather evidence and present findings and recommendations in reports and verbally. You will ensure that employees are treated fairly through the process and that investigations and protected disclosures are handled in line with Oxfam policy, legal and regulatory requirements.

You may be required to work out of normal office hours for your location as we work across differing time zones and working weeks.

Please note: we are keen to increase the diversity of our team and the postholder may be able to work in a country other than the UK, and where they have the legal right to reside and work, providing Oxfam GB has a legal presence and capacity to recruit in that location. Oxfam is not able to provide any relocation costs or visa sponsorship for this role.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to the values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion and our feminist principles.

An ideal candidate for the role will also have:

  • Investigations experience gained in an HR or similar background
  • Knowledge of employment law and application of other relevant laws and legal principles
  • Practical experience of resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Empathy and ability to establish a rapport and build trust quickly with a range of stakeholders
  • High standard of written and spoken English as this is the main business language for Integrity & Ethics teams and across Oxfam GB
  • Analytical skills to identify risks, use data and evidence to prepare case reports, and ability to weigh up and make recommendations when there are unknowns and different possible solutions
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Influencing skills
  • Emotional resilience to cope with a varied case load and a range of stakeholder needs and organisational pressures
