Do you have proven success in legacy fundraising, and expert understanding of the principles and practices of legacy marketing and supporter/customer relationship development?

We are looking for an Head of Legacy Engagement at an exciting new phase for Oxfam while we launch our new Engagement Strategy. Our Engagement Strategy has challenging ambitions for Oxfam to grow its supporter base and income, and build a culture based on feminist values and principles.

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you will be providing strategic direction and leadership in line with our feminist approach and values. To lead a team to develop and deliver an ambitious legacy and ‘In Memory’ strategy in order to meet our ambitious growth goals.

You’ll have:

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to the values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do and our feminist principles.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

  • A collaborative leader that encourages integration and supports their teams to succeed.
  • Experience of managing performance of others and helping people to develop, grow and achieve their potential, including increasing diversity and inclusion in teams and / or workplaces, and creating positive change in work culture, processes and practices.
  • Lived experience (s) or evidence of learning/taking action on anti-racism and inequalities.
  • Proven success in legacy fundraising, and expert understanding of the principles and practices of legacy marketing and supporter/customer relationship development.
  • Deep knowledge of direct marketing principles, phone and digital marketing techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience of audience listening and research practices.
  • Strong influencing & relationship building skills
  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, and continuous improvement through testing and learning.
  • High levels of curiosity & external awareness.

Gaining an internal employment reference will not apply to those within ringfence selection or suitable alternative / redeployment situation which falls under Oxfam’s redundancy process.

Conditional offers made in selection stages may also be subject appropriate screening checks. Oxfam GB participates in the Inter Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme. In line with this scheme we will take into account any live disciplinary sanctions a candidate may have when making the selection decision.
